Unlike previous weeks, the wool forward market was buzzing with activities this week. A softer Au$ and lower PI rates resulted in buyers securing 18 trades in total, of which nine were from fine wool, 8 from medium and one from crossbred types.
Most of the 19 micron wool was traded for August and September 2018 ranging from 2000¢ to 2010¢. Rest of the trades for 2018 were at 2130¢ and 2080¢ being settled in May and July. While another one from the same category was for January 2019 at 1900¢.
2019 saw two more deals, but in 21 micron category, for February and June at 1800¢ and 1700¢ respectively. This wool type had a deal for June at 1960¢, July at 1940¢, August at 1880¢, September at 1835¢ and two for October at 1800¢ and 1830¢. The crossbred types were traded at 860¢ for November 2018.
There were no minimum price contracts this week.
