Rain puts a rocket under young cattle

Young cattle prices have lifted significantly across the eastern seaboard in response to widespread rainfall, particularly in Queensland. Suggestions abound that restockers are returning to the market and adding to the scramble for store cattle, in what is shaping up as a tight season. Are we returning to the heady days of the 2016/17 herd rebuild with an EYCI above 700¢ or is it still too early to call a restocker resurgence?
