Processors with a spring in their steps

After experiencing declining margins from May to July the Mecardo beef processor margin model shows a lift from August onwards to see monthly average margins nearing $200 profit per head of cattle processed by September. On an annual basis, the processor margin is sitting just shy of $190, which is unsurprising given the high level of female cattle slaughter underway this season.
