Young cattle markets slide in May – EYCI percentiles

After a solid recovery in April, young cattle markets retreated in May on the back of deteriorating seasonal conditions. Overall, prices fell between 10¢ and 40¢ month-on-month, the worst performing yards being Tamworth and Wagga. While buyers are paying similar prices for EYCI cattle in NSW and Victoria, the price differential between processors and restockers in Queensland remains quite large.
