Young cattle back to where they started the year off

In percentage terms the Eastern Young Cattle Indicator (EYCI) is back at January 2016 levels. After posting feeble weekly gains of up to 3% during late February the consolidation is not surprising given the very strong gains posted during 2015. In this article we have a look at what the average seasonal pattern and the “normal” variation around the percentage price movements can tell us about potential movements the year ahead.
