A 38% increase in sales of sheep off-farm this season has been a key driver behind a dramatic fall in Australian mutton prices. Since mid-2012, the national mutton price has fallen 70%, reaching a low 118 ¢/kg cwt on in January 2013. What will an autumn break mean for sheep supply and mutton prices?
