Another week of strong activity on the wool forwards market, as growers were encouraged by the rising Aussie Dollar and softening local market to get some of their clip locked in.
18 micron wool traded at 2295¢ for October 2018, while a 18.5 micron contract traded at 2,250¢ for August 2018. 19 micron wools traded at 2,300¢ for June 2018 and between 2,200¢ to 2,220¢ for August 18. 19 micron contracts for October 2018 traded at 2,100¢, and at 2000¢ for January and April 2019.
In the medium wool category, 21 micron fibres traded at between 2,220¢ and 2,260¢ for June 2018, and 2,190¢ for July 2018. Contracts for August 2018 dealt at 2,025¢ and 2,100¢.
September 2018 saw 5 trades of 21 micron wool, ranging from 2,005¢ to 2,040¢. Contracts also dealt at 1,925¢ for November 2018 and 1,910¢ for April 2019.
A single deal was also struck for 22 micron wool at a strike price of 2,170¢ for June 2018.
There were no minimum price contracts this week.
