It was the last week of sales for the 17/18 wool selling season. A total of 703 contracts traded on Riemann over the season, which was a 13% increase on last season, along with a 9% lift in total volumes. The forwards market had a solid week of activity across fine and medium fibres.
18 micron wool traded at 2300¢ for January 2019 and 2300¢ for March 2019. In the 19 micron category, contracts for August 2018 traded at 2275¢, while September saw a trade at 2240¢. 19 micron lots traded at 2205¢ & 2210¢ for October 2018. Deals were also struck for June and July 2019 at 2000¢ & 2050¢ respectively. August and October 2019 saw trades at 2000¢.
All trades in the mid fibre category this week were set to mature in 2018. 21 micron traded at a range of 2280¢ and 2300¢ for July 2018. August saw a deal at 2255¢, while September ranged from 2190¢ to 2205¢. Two contracts for 21 micron in October traded at 2135¢ and a single December trade at 2100¢.
No minimum price contracts traded this week.
