The activity in the finer end of the physical auction market translated into some contracts getting set for growers in the fine wool forward market too this week as exporters show an appetite to lock in some cover out to mid-2018.
The 18-micron contract saw a trade at 2000¢ for May 2018, but most of the finer action was reserved for the 18.5 category.
Trades were noted at 2000¢ for Nov and Dec 2017 in the 18 mpg and between 1960¢ to 1980¢ for May 2018.
The 21 micron saw two trades at 1530¢ for Feb 2018 and 1520¢ for March 2018.
No minimum price contracts traded this week.
