Can the wool forwards market get much better than we’ve seen this week? It would prove quite hard to beat with growers locking in strong prices for five different MPGs.
The 18 micron wool was traded at 2058¢ for December 2017. While 18.5 micron saw three trades for November 2017 at 2000¢, two trades for February 2018 at 1970¢ and 2000¢ and another trade for April 2018 at 1975¢.
19 mpg saw five trades between 1860¢ and 1875¢ for this year and four trades between 1825¢ and 1855¢ for 2018. A 19.5 micron was traded at 1710¢ for February 2018.
21 micron wool was traded at 1540¢, 1535¢ and 1500¢ for November 2017 and January and June 2018 respectively.
