The trades in the wool forward market have grown in leaps and bounds over the week. The market was soaring with deals, and wool exporters are in a much better position to choose from.
18 and 18.5 micron saw deals at 2180¢ and 2010¢ for March and April 2018.
There was a massive amount of trades for the 19 micron wool category, ranging between 1700¢ and 1970¢. In 2018, January saw some action at 1960¢ and 1970¢, February at 1955¢ and 1950¢, April and May had both their trades at 1950¢ and 1900 respectively, June varied from 1910¢ to 1930¢, July between 1900¢ and 1910¢, and August saw some deals in the range of 1870¢ and 1850¢ and November at 1770¢. Further, January 2019 had a trade at 1700¢ for the same category.
On the other hand, 21 micron wool saw a single trade at 1610¢ for February 2018, three deals at 1610¢ and one at 1595¢ for March 2018, one at 1590¢ for April 2018, between 1545¢ and 1555¢ for May and one at 1550 for June 2018.
