US takes Aussie beef exports to a new record in 2014

Beef shipments in 2014 increased a whopping 16.7% on the previous record set in 2013 to reach 1,287,008 tonnes swt. This was a result of unprecedented slaughter levels, an insatiable export demand from the US and a falling A$. While exports to all three major overseas markets increased from 2013 levels, the US was undeniably the shining star in 2014 absorbing a remarkable 31% of all Aussie beef exports.
