Fine merino volumes have been in surplus in recent years as dry seasonal conditions have pushed the Australian merino clip finer. With the good start to the season in 2014, the prospects of fine wool supply shrinking back to a more “normal” level were very good. This article looks at the volumes of ultrafine wool in recent months, which is the peak time of supply for these categories.
