A clear improvement in demand for lamb meat in key export markets coupled with abundant domestic supplies has seen Aussie lamb exports surge 15% month-on-month to a fresh record of 24,202 tonnes swt (figures 1 and 2). The lower A$ seen in October has also given an extra competitive edge to Australian product while New Zealand’s supplies are still far away from their seasonal peak.
