The message is pretty clear - lambs are a hold

Despite the recent downtrend, the Eastern States Trade Lamb Indicator (ESTLI) managed to stay above the 400¢/kg cwt mark between June and early October before succumbing in the last two weeks. Defying MLA’s and ABS’s forecasts, lamb slaughter remains stubbornly high and well above 2012 levels this spring. What will this mean for prices now and down the track?
