Tasmania weaner prices firm, but are they expensive?

The Tasmanian weaner sales started positively this year, with prices largely following the movements seen in mainland prices since the start of the year. As opposed to 2013 and 2014, lighter stock (less than 200kg lwt) are now outperforming heavier lines, with prices 44% higher year-on-year. Despite the firm prices, the Tasmanian weaner market doesn’t seem too overheated.
