Spring downtrend masks the robust demand for mutton

Mutton prices on the east coast have fallen roughly 35-40% since peaking in mid-June. Although downtrends of this nature are quite common in spring, the below average rainfall levels have helped to accentuate this seasonality in mutton markets as supply climbs steadily. Despite that, mutton prices remain relatively well priced by historic terms and in comparison to other livestock markets.
