Tightening feed conditions – should I sell merinos or crossbreds?

Seasonal conditions have deteriorated substantially over the last few weeks, causing feed availability to dwindle rapidly. Producers have been forced to offload stock to match feed supplies, causing lamb markets to plunge. The Eastern States Trade Lamb Indicator (ESTLI) has fallen more than 100¢ in less than a month to 468¢/kg cwt this Wednesday. If destocking is urgent, what to sell? Merino or crossbreds?
