Riemann Wool Forwards – week ending 02/09/16

The increased participation in the Riemann trading platform since the move to a financial product has seen monthly volume reach over 400 tonnes, the first time turnover has reached this high since late 2015.

This week saw trading across most wool categories with the 21-micron the most actively traded. October 2016 saw deals between 1425-1435¢/kg clean for the 21 mpg. September 2016 traded within a 1450¢-1460¢ range and November was dealing between 1410¢ to 1430¢. Into 2017 the 21-micron class saw deals booked for March, April and May at 1380¢/kg clean.

In the finer wool classes, the 19-micron dealt at 1450¢ and the 18.5-micron saw grower orders filled at 1480¢ for March 2017. Coarse fibres dealt in the 28 mpg class for October 2016 at 775¢ and January 2017 at 765¢.
