Riemann wool forwards – week ending 9/10/15

By Robert Herrmann  |  Source: Riemann

The Riemann Wool Forward market has had a very quiet start to October. Buyers are struggling to generate inquiry from processors in this market, while growers are looking at the supply equation and deciding that price risk is in their favour.

What this means at a market level is that buyers are not prepared to bid up, and growers are not prepared to lower their ‘sell’ offers.

Wool forward markets regularly go through these benign periods; at the end there is a break-out. Right now, the sellers are betting it will be on the upside. Time will tell who is right.
