Riemann wool forwards experienced a flurry of action this week heading into the Christmas break. Prices started out stronger on Tuesday as a precursor to the solid results for the penultimate auction for this year held on Wednesday.
There were a range of export bids present, and growers were able to fill GTC orders for the early months of 2016 up to 1360¢/kg clean. Mid-year orders traded to 1330¢ and contracts toward the end of 2016 were noted at 1300¢. Fine wool saw some action too with trades for settlement in the first quarter of 2016 as high as 1430¢.
