Heavy steers and cows underperform in February – QLD percentiles

As beef export prices took a big hit in February, heavy steers and cow prices collapsed as processor demand waned considerably amid ongoing strong supplies. From their peaks, prices fell 50-60¢ by the end of February despite a milder correction in OTH rates. Store cattle and trade steers managed to consolidate month gains from January to see prices only marginally lower in February.
