Direct to works more popular for lamb markets

While lamb prices have fallen recently, this hasn’t coincided with rising yardings. In fact, east coast lamb yardings over the last 10 weeks have been 6% below the same period in 2014. There are likely two reasons for this. Either producers are selling more lambs direct to works or demand is weakening. This article looks at the proportion of lambs sold through the yards and how it compares to historical levels.
