Developing countries dictate the performance of Australian lamb exports

Despite ongoing high lamb prices, Australian lamb exports rose 9% in July to 18,744 tonnes swt on the back of a sizeable increase in volumes going to the Middle East and Asia. Year-to-date shipments are already 14% higher year-on-year and 32% above the 5-year average, putting 2013 on track to break 2012’s record export mark.
