Who benefits from a live export ban?

It would be fair to assume that a live export ban, as called for by the Australian Meat Industry Employees Union (AMIEU), would have the effect of creating a glut in supply in the domestic market with flow on consequences for processors, producers and cattle prices. This article will focus on recent patterns in supply in order to get a picture of the potential magnitude of this supply shock and whom are the likely beneficiaries of such a ban.
