As with cattle markets, poor seasonal conditions saw lamb and sheep supplies surge in 2013. Offsetting this strong downside force, we saw demand for Aussie sheepmeat in key export markets reach levels never seen before. The end result was a surprisingly firm market given the record throughput levels. This article provides a snapshot of market fundamentals and prices for key sheep and lamb categories during 2013.
